The Welleringhausen Volcano and History Trail consists of two thematically self-contained circular trails. The paths make the traces of geological and cultural history visible.

The volcano and history trail takes you back in time on the trail of the Welleringhausen volcano. Mountains and valleys, quarries and tunnels, but also the natural stones in the townscape and special features of the flora - the volcano and its deposits have shaped the landscape and cultural history around Welleringhausen to this day.

Directions
The Welleringhausen history trail begins at the fire station in Welleringhausen, Zum Sonnenberg 12. The stations provide information about geological and botanical features as well as the history of the village with its Romanesque Abraham's Church. Following the same route as the volcano trail, the path first leads past the Katmecketal nature reserve, on to a medieval Jewish settlement and back to the starting point. Station boards provide information about cultural, historical and geological features.You can also walk the trail in the opposite direction.

By car via the B251 to Gasthof Ohlenbeck between Usseln and Neerdar, Welleringhausen junction.
