Exciting stories about cultural and natural history in a beautiful landscape (Hochheide and Schwarzbachtal nature reserves) combined with an audio and hiking experience over a length of around 9 km. Audio stories Heinsberg Heid, Hufeisenstein, Dreiherrnstein for download !
From the Hochheide hiking parking lot, the tour initially leads along the Rothaarsteig (hiking sign: horizontal R on a red background) towards Schwarzbachtal and the Rhein-Weser-Turm. In the Schwarzbachtal (nature reserve), the circular tour follows the Rothaarsteig access path towards Röspe.Attention ! If you want to find the Hufeisenstein and its history, leave the Rothaarsteig access path for a detour at the "Hufeisenstein" hiking signpost and take hiking trail A 1 towards the Haberg nature reserve for a few meters. At the height where a forest path branches off to the right, after a few steps turn left "through the bushes" to Kurze Dörbach and recognize the Hufeisenstein with a trained eye. You can download the audio story about the Hufeisenstein here. After this little exploratory detour, follow the Rothaarsteig access path again to the next crossroads (location name: An der Röspe 1). From here, follow the hiking trail marked with a K in a white circle, initially heading south. After around 4.5 km, the hiking trail marked with the K leads us directly to the Dreiherrnstein. The audio history provides an exciting insight into the cultural history of this border triangle and tells of more than just peaceful conflicts. From the Dreiherrnstein, the Rothharasteig trail leads north to the Heinsberg Hochheide. After around 1.5 km, you reach the heathland. Here, it is worth following the history of the "Heinsberg Heid" and the "Dicken Stein" before reaching the starting point, the Hochheide hiking parking lot, just a few meters away. The 3 audio stories of this adventure tour are available for download as a podcast .https://www.lennestadt-kirchhundem.de/Wandern/Unsere-Themenwege/Grenzgeschichten-hautnah/6-Hoergeschichten
Information about the rescue signsMost hiking trails run away from towns and settlements and every hiker has thought about what would happen if an emergency were to occur. How can I be found here? Where am I anyway? Can the emergency services reach me?But in an emergency, things have to happen quickly! That's why the hiking trail network in the Lennestadt & Kirchhundem region is equipped with so-called rescue signs throughout. The green and white stickers attached to the posts of the signposts have a number that you must give when making an emergency call. This means that the emergency services know exactly where you are and valuable time can be saved.
