Information

Directions

The circular route starts at the train station (1), Bahnhofsplatz 1, in Grevenbrück. There are plenty of parking spaces available here. From there, walk through the underpass, taking the barrier-free path, up to the other side of the underpass and then right (Burgweg sign), along the tracks on an asphalt path. Cross the Veischede and turn left in front of the Belke nursery. Here you will find an information board. Immediately afterwards, turn left again. A short section of the path is gravel. Here you follow the path, again over a bridge, and now walk through a quarter of houses and then take the first turning on the right. Stay on the straight path. At the end of the houses, the route turns right and you cross the Veischede again. You will come directly to the memorial (3) with another information sign. Continue along the road and turn left. At the crossroads, turn right and cross the road to reach a gravel, well-surfaced field path that runs parallel to a meadow and a field on the right. You have to go uphill and downhill once and then the path is flat again. You pass an industrial company and return to the village, keeping to the right. Here you reach Klogges Hof (4), Twiene 2. From here, follow the road "Twiene". With a view of the church and along the Veischede, you reach the crossroads, which you cross and come to the pig bell (5), as well as the conveyor square (6) with wooden stele (7) and the wooden frame stand "Wilder Mann" (10). To the right of the conveyor square you will find the Edith Stein House (8), the church (9) and the pastorate (11). Nos. 8 and 11 are to the right and left of the church. Pass the pastorate and return to the original route along the Veischede. You will reach the Becker-Borggräfe farmhouse (12), Twiene 29, on the right and a little further on the left a small bridge "Zum Salzhaus", which you cross and then immediately turn right. Here you will find the oldest house from Grevenbrück - Britmanns Hof - Zum Salzhaus (13), Zum Salzhaus 3. The house has a roof over the entrance. From here, turn right to the main road and then left again. Walk along the road for a while until you come to a sculpture: Mälo (14). A little further on, you will see the former old district court (15) on the right, Kölner Str. 18, now Sauerland Kurier. Next to it is Haus Schneider-Stens (16), Kölner Str. 20. On the left is a larger house that used to house the Becker saddlery (17), Kölner Str. 28. Look out for the figure in the gable. Along the street, you will see the museum (18), Kölner Str. 57, on the right-hand side and a little further on the Schützenhalle (19). Opposite the Schützenhalle, at the traffic lights, take the street "Im Planken" in the direction of the fire station tower (20). From here, keep right onto the road "Zum Feuerwehrturm" until you reach the traffic circle and then turn left. Immediately on the left-hand side you will see Haus Beckmann (22), Kölner Str. 80 and on the right-hand side of the street the Beamtenwohnhaus (21), Kölner Str. 81. Your route continues along the street and you will see the Dingerkus law firm (23), Kölner Str. 93 on the left-hand side. You will come to a junction with traffic lights. Cross the road here and you will see Gleislose (24) on a grassy area on the right. From here, the path leads back towards the station and the starting point. Continue along Kölner Straße until you reach the underpass, which you cross under and reach your destination.Walking time: approx. 2 hours 30

Safty guidelines

You should always set off accompanied by friends or relatives without disabilities. On some tours, there are longer uphill and downhill sections where support from a companion is useful and necessary. Remember that you are out and about at your own risk! The actual suitability of the tours naturally depends very much on the respective restrictions, age, weather conditions and, last but not least, the equipment available (e.g. electric scooter, baby carriage, etc.). It is therefore unfortunately not possible to provide generalized information that is suitable for everyone. The information on the duration or difficulty of the tour can therefore only serve as a guide. When checking the routes, we have made sure that cell phone coverage is as complete as possible. In emergencies, our green and white rescue point signs on the posts will help you to indicate your position in the event of an emergency call.
