White woman - nature experience trail along mountain slopes and rough grasslands around Brilon-Rösenbeck
The more than 550-meter-high Weiße Frau and Egge valley flanks with their mosaic of valuable forest, rock and open land habitats are a fantastic landscape experience.

Recommended seasons
The hike leads in two loops either through the woods to the "Weiße Frau" viewpoint or to the open countryside of the Egge. Both loops offer impressive views of the Hoppecke Valley and (on a clear day) the Bruchhauser Steine.
At the summit of the Weiße Frau, you have a good view of the "Padberg Switzerland" landscape. On the mountain slopes, you hike through boulder forests and other valuable forest communities that are home to orchids such as the white and long-leaved woodland bird's-eye. Numerous rare bird species such as stock dove and red kite nest in the deciduous forests.
On the hike around the Egge, you will experience a mosaic of rough pastures and mat-grass meadows as well as damp and wet grasslands around springs. In summer, you will be accompanied by the song of skylarks and tree pipits. Botanical eye-catchers include Heid carnation, golden thistle and centaury. A delight for the nose is the medicinal thyme, whose scent rises when the sun warms the areas in summer.

Directions
From the parking lot, follow the approximately four-kilometre-long eastern circular hiking trail R2 through the forests of the Weiße Frau. A spur trail of 1.6 kilometers leads to the rocks with the viewing platform and back.The western hiking trail R 1 with a length of approx. 3.5 kilometers leads from the parking lot to the dry grasslands in the Egge area and also offers a beautiful view. From both paths, the Bruchhauser Steine can be seen in some places, more than 20 kilometers away.

Getting there
From Brilon, take the B7 towards Marsberg and turn onto the K58 to Rösenbeck. Within the village, follow the main road to the church on the right-hand side and turn right into the street "Zur Weißen Frau".
