Dining Options Along the Golddorf Route—Oberhenneborn:
Fantastic views and sights line the Golddorf Route, which begins at the Peace Oak in the Federal Gold Village of Oberhenneborn and is marked throughout with a golden “G” on a red background. On the trail running parallel to the Ruttenberg, hikers cross the little Sachmecke River and soon reach a rock formation—the “Henneborner Loreley.” Passing between two giant spruce trees, the trail leads downhill to the SGV Oberhenneborn hut—and then steeply uphill. Every step is worth it, because at the top, a fantastic view of the Henne Valley opens up! Passing a wayside shrine, hikers then walk around the Heyer Knochen to the Kreuz Chapel and finally return to Oberhenneborn via the Bee Nature Trail.
Always follow the Golddorf Route trail marker—the golden "G" on a red background.
Sturdy shoes are recommended, as well as plenty of food and drinks.
A system of emergency points has been set up in the Hochsauerland district. You can find emergency points on the information boards at intersections and on hiking trail signs, among other places. All signposts along this trail are marked with official location numbers indicating that they are emergency points.
