Information

Directions

The circular route starts at the train station (1), Bahnhofsplatz 1, in Grevenbrück. There are sufficient parking spaces available here. From there you go through the underpass, taking the barrier-free path, up to the other side of the underpass and then right (sign Burgweg), along the tracks on asphalt path. Cross the Veischede and turn left in front of the Belke nursery. Here you will find an information board. Immediately after that you turn left again. A short section of the path is gravelled. Here you follow the path, again over a bridge, and now go through a quarter of houses and then take the 1st turn to the right. You stay on the straight path. At the end of the houses the tour leads off to the right and you cross the Veischede again. You will get directly to the memorial (3) with another information sign. Continue to the road and turn left. At the crossing you go directly right and here you cross the road and reach a gravelled, well paved dirt road that runs parallel to a meadow and a field on the right. Once you have to go uphill and downhill briefly and the path is level again. You pass an industrial company and come back into the village, keeping to the right. Here you reach Klogges Hof (4), Twiene 2. From here you follow the road "Twiene". With a view of the church and along the Veischede, you come to the crossroads, which you cross and come to the pig's bell (5), as well as the winding place (6) with wooden stele (7) and the wooden frame stand "Wilder Mann" (10). To the right of the conveyance square you will find the Edith Stein House (8), the church (9) and the pastorate (11). No. 8 and No. 11 are to the right and left of the church. Passing the Pastorat, you return to the original path, along the Veischede. You will reach the farmhouse Becker-Borggräfe (12), Twiene 29, on the right side and a little further on the left side a small bridge "Zum Salzhaus", which you cross and then immediately turn right. Here you will find the oldest house from Grevenbrück- Britmanns Hof - Zum Salzhaus (13), Zum Salzhaus 3. The house has a roof over the entrance. From here you turn right to the main street and there left again. You walk along the road for a bit until you come to a sculpture: Mälo (14). A little further on you will see the former old district court (15), Kölner Str. 18, now Sauerland Kurier, on the right. Next to it is house Schneider-Stens (16), Kölner Str. 20. On the left side comes a bigger house, where you used to find the saddlery Becker (17), Kölner Str. 28. Here you have to pay attention to the figure in the gable. Along the street, you will see the museum (18), Kölner Str. 57, on the right side, and a little further on the Schützenhalle (19). Opposite the Schützenhalle, at the traffic lights, turn into the street "Im Planken" in the direction of the fire department tower (20). From here, keep right onto the street "Zum Feuerwehrturm" until you reach the traffic circle and then turn left. Immediately on the left side you will find the house Beckmann (22), Kölner Str. 80 and on the right side of the street the civil servants' residence (21), Kölner Str. 81. Your way continues along the street and you will see on the left side the law office Dingerkus (23), Kölner Str. 93. You will reach a crossing with traffic lights. Here you cross the street and see the Gleislose (24) on a piece of grass on the right side. From here, the path leads back in the direction of the train station and the starting point. You continue along Kölner Straße until you reach the underpass, which you cross under and have reached your destination.Walking time: approx. 2 h 30

Safty guidelines

You should always set out accompanied by friends or relatives without a handicap. On some tours there are longer uphill and downhill sections where support from the escort is useful and necessary. Keep in mind that you are on your own responsibility! The actual suitability of the tours depends of course very much on the respective limitations, age, weather and not least on the available equipment (e.g. electric scooter, stroller..). Therefore, it is unfortunately not possible to make generalized statements that are exactly suitable for everyone. The information on the duration or difficulty of the tour can therefore only serve as a guide. When checking the routes, we have made sure that they are covered as completely as possible by cell phone networks. In case of emergency, our green and white rescue point boards on the trail posts will help you to indicate your position in case of emergency calls.
