The Hunau mountain ridge, up to 818 meters high, represents one of the highest elevations in North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition to large stands of hardwoods, two of the bogs that are rare in the Sauerland are also found here.

In the Sauerland, moors are very rare - but there are two such ecosystems on the Hunau mountain ridge, which is up to 818 meters high. And not only the "Nasse Wiese" and the "Rauhe Bruch" are worth a hike - hikers roam through large deciduous forests and get completely involved with nature.
For more information on the Hunau, visit : www.naturschaetze-suedwestfalens.de
To get to the "Nasse Wiese" nature reserve, hikers follow the 8.1-kilometer circular trail B 4. Those who also want to see the second bog take trail X 25 from there to the "Rauhen Bruch" and later return to the starting point along the same route.
A rescue point system is installed in the Hochsauerlandkreis. Rescue points can be found, among other things, on the information boards of the junctions and the hiking signs.
The hikers' parking lot "Unterm Nonnenstein" is located on the K19 between the villages of Bödefeld and Osterwald.
Free parking is available at the hiking parking lot "Unterm Nonnenstein".
