The starting point of the hike is in the center of Oberkirchen at the Landhotel Gasthof Schütte. The hike leads from Oberkirchen up a nature trail through the scenic nature reserve "Sommerseite" to Döpp's field barn. Further on, the path leads you up to the Ennest, from where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view and a grandiose view into the Lenne valley. Now the trail descends towards Gut Vorwald, where you have the opportunity to stop for a break. Via a nature trail at Hirscheck you now slowly return to Oberkirchen. Here, too, there are again various opportunities to stop for refreshments.

The hiking trail is well signposted. Always follow the hiking sign "Golden G in a circle on a red background".

A rescue point system is installed in the Hochsauerlandkreis. Rescue points can be found, among other things, on the information boards of the junctions and hiking signs.

The parking lot for hikers is located directly on the B236 in the center of the village.

At the starting point of the route, in the center of Oberkirchen, there is limited parking available in the hikers' parking lot. Further parking spaces can be found in the area of the Schützenhalle in Schützenstraße.
