The starting point for this hike is the parking lot at Heringhausen-Strandbad. However, you can of course also start at any other point on the circular tour around Lake Diemelsee. The highlight of the H6 is the imposing barrier wall, over which you can walk and look along the impressive walls down to the Ausgleichsweiher and on the other side to the Diemelsee. Near the barrier wall and in Heringhausen you will also find several places to stop for refreshments.

With a stroller you can follow the H6 until above the campsite Seehof/ Knust. At this point, however, you then leave the H6 and follow the path "Am Rasenberg" down to the lake. At the parking lot "Gate to the Waldroute" at the level of the main landing stage of the excursion boat "MS Muffert" near the barrier wall you meet the H6 again and follow the H6 further over the barrier wall.
