Directions
From the Hochheide hut, walk across the Hoher Hagen nature reserve on the Hochheide in the direction of Hoppecke Quelle. Meet the Rothaarsteig, then turn right and walk along the edge of the Hochheide past the Clemensberg, on which a detour with a panoramic view is worthwhile, back to the starting point.
Safty guidelines
Make sure you have good footwear. Winter boots with good tread or with snow claws are particularly suitable. Dress appropriately for the weather. Take a cell phone with you in case of emergency. Use trekking poles, which will give you a secure grip on snow and ice. Keep in mind that walking time on snow may increase. There may be icy spots on sunny slopes.
Getting there
You reach Winterberg-Niedersfeld via the federal highway 480. In the center of Niedersfeld turn off and follow the signs "Hochheide".
