Enjoy the heavenly forest atmosphere of the rustling coniferous and deciduous forests on an approx. 8 km long circular tour and let yourself be inspired at 6 stations by short poems to linger, to reflect and to (be-)sensually enjoy nature.

And enjoy the diverse impressions of light beech woods, shady coniferous forests and open meadow landscapes with a wide view over mountains and valleys during the short hike.

At the places to stay "Attunement", "Cross-Ways", "Passing & Emergence", "Rings of Life", "Arrival" and "Encouragement" there is poetry (poems, quotes) as well as information about nature and forestry and interesting impulses for experiencing nature.

Information

Directions

The easy hike on easily passable forest paths of approx. 7.7 km length is marked with the marker sign "white circle on black background" throughout. From the starting point at the Rahrbach church, the trail first goes slightly uphill through open meadow landscape to the edge of the forest (approx. 0.8 km). From the first experience station ("Einstimmung") the path leads in a gentle up and down through coniferous, deciduous and mixed forests, which partly enjoy a special protection as so-called wilderness areas or FFH areas, and opens again and again the view over open meadow landscapes. You can find out more about the protected forest areas - wilderness and FFH area "Apollmicke and Einsiedelei" - at the "Vergehen & Entstehen" and "Lebensringe" places. Please note: The wilderness areas are predominantly located in nature reserves or FFH areas and therefore it is forbidden to enter the forest areas off the paths as well as to collect plants or mushrooms. That is why you stay on the marked hiking trail between the dwelling places 3 and 4 - "Vergehen & Entstehen" and "Lebensringe"...And of course, entering the forest everywhere is at your own risk. This also applies to a hike on the Rahrbach Poetry Trail - forest visitors must , whether in the "normal" forest or in the wilderness area, themselves pay attention to the typical dangers of the forest, such as falling branches and tripping hazards.

Safty guidelines

Information about the rescue boardsMostly hiking trails run away from villages and settlements and every hiker has already thought about what would happen if there was an emergency. How can I be found here? Where am I at all? Can the rescue service reach me?But in an emergency, things have to happen quickly! That's why the network of hiking trails in the Lennestadt & Kirchhundem region is equipped throughout with so-called rescue signs. On the green and white plaques, which are attached to the posts of the signposts, there is a number that you have to give when you make your emergency call. This way, the emergency services know exactly where you are and valuable time can be saved.
