White woman - nature discovery trail along mountain slopes and lean grasslands around Brilon-Rösenbeck
The more than 550-meter-high valley flanks of Weiße Frau and Egge with their mosaic of valuable forest, rock and open land habitats are a fantastic landscape experience.

Recommended seasons
The hike leads in two loops either through the woods to the viewpoint "Weiße Frau" or to the open land Egge. Both loops offer impressive views into the Hoppecke valley and (in clear weather) to the Bruchhauser Steine.
On the summit of the "Weiße Frau" you have a good view of the landscape area "Padberger Schweiz". On the mountain slopes you will hike through log forests and other valuable forest communities, which are home to orchids such as the white and the long-leaved woodland bird. Numerous rare bird species such as the stock dove and red kite nest in the deciduous forests.
During the hike around the Egge you will experience a mosaic of rough pastures and bristly grasslands as well as wet grasslands in the area of springs. In summer, you will be accompanied by the songs of skylarks and tree pipits. Botanical eye-catchers are, for example, Heid carnation, golden thistle and centaury. A delight for the nose is the medicinal thyme, whose smell rises when the sun warms the surfaces in summer.

Directions
From the parking lot, follow the eastern circular trail R2, about four kilometers long, through the forests of the White Lady. A spur trail of 1.6 kilometers leads to the rocks with the viewing platform and back.The western hiking trail R 1 with a length of about 3.5 kilometers leads from the parking lot to the dry grasslands in the Egge area and also offers a beautiful view. From both trails, the Bruchhauser Steine can be seen in some places, more than 20 kilometers away.

Getting there
From Brilon, take the B7 in the direction of Marsberg and turn onto the K58 to Rösenbeck. Within the village follow the main road until the church on the right side and turn right there into the street "Zur Weißen Frau".
