The Blackbird Trail leads for approx. 4 kilometers through structurally rich forest edges and meadows, which are home to numerous songbirds of the Medebach Bay European bird sanctuary. Ideal for a gentle introduction to hiking in the spa area.

The Blackbird Trail is a short, varied loop that is ideal for gently activating the cardiovascular system. The start and finish are at the Weddelsee hiking parking lot in Medebach. The trail initially runs along the quiet forest edge of the Weddelberg before a winding nature trail and a small bridge lead into the Hasenkammertal valley.
A moderate ascent along the family discovery trail takes us up to the "Hasenstall" hut on the AVENTURA - SpielBerg, where we can build up our stamina at a pleasant pace.
The route then continues downhill, accompanied by wonderful views of the Hasenkammertal valley. Passing the Center Parcs Hochsauerland and crossing two small wooden bridges at the Weddelsee lake, we finally reach the starting point again.

An ideal terrain cure trail for a soothing, steady workout in the fresh air of the climatic health resort of Medebach.

Directions

The Amselpfad is marked throughout with the blue-green Terrainkurweg 1 trail sign.The trail initially leads along a wide path at the edge of the forest for approx. 700 m before turning slightly left onto a small nature trail. After 200 m, we reach a meadow, cross the stream and follow the path to the left. Below the farm, the route continues in the direction of AVENTURA - SpielBerg. We are now on the Hasenkammer discovery trail. Once you reach the top, take a moment to enjoy the view at the photo point!The trail descends along the ball track. We turn right onto the nature trail below the Center Parcs, with a view of the Weddelberg. Turn left along a path to reach the tarmac cycle and footpath. At the end of this path, we cross the road to reach the Weddelsee lake. We circle the lake to the left, cross two wooden bridges and reach our starting point at the hikers' parking lot.
