This tour first takes you from Schanze along the Rothaarsteig, past and over the suspension bridge, then along the sculptures "Stein-Zeit-Mensch", "Kein leichtes Spiel" and "Der Krummstab" on the Wittgenstein - Sauerland Forest Sculpture Trail and back to the hilltop village of Schanze.
On the Rothaarsteig, you will first pass the Altarstein. The trail then takes you past the Dicken Eiche (Thick Oak) to the suspension bridge on the Rothaarsteig. Along the sculptures "Stein Zeit Mensch", "Kein leichtes Spiel" and "Krummstab" of the WaldSkulpturenWeg Wittgenstein - Sauerland, the tour takes you back to the hilltop village of Schanze.Along the way, you will find various Rothaarsteig furniture that invites you to take a break.
At the end of the hike, you will pass the Kyrill-Pfad Schanze. This 1 km long path shows the natural force of the storm "Kyrill", which permanently destroyed the forests of the Sauerland in 2007. If you walk along the Kyrill-Pfad, you will come back to the actual hiking trail at its end.

The Ismo line 466 (former hiking bus, must be booked at least 30 minutes in advance) runs in Schanze.
With the Schmallenberg Sauerland Card you can use public transport in the Hochsauerland district free of charge.

In the center of the village Schmallenberg - Grafschaft turn in the direction of Schanze (into the street: "Am Stünzel") and stay on this street until you reach Schanze.
