Dining along the Golddorf Route—Niedersorpe:
You can find more restaurants, lodging, and activities in the Schmallenberg Sauerlandhere.
Guests hike through one of the most beautiful stream valleys in the Hochsauerland region along the Golddorf Route in Niedersorpe, which is marked by a golden “G” on a red background. Starting at the hiking information center at the town entrance, the trail first heads southwest for a short distance, crosses the sparkling Sorpe River, and then climbs up to Waldemei. There, it’s worth visiting the Klute Art Forge with its impressive sculpture park. Hikers follow the trail toward Burgberg, cross the little Lüttmecke River, and hike in a wide arc through the Sorpetal back to Niedersorpe. The chapel, built in 1739, is worth seeing: During the last renovation in 2005, remnants of an older chapel and ceramic fragments from the 13th to 14th centuries were discovered.
Visit the Klute Art Forge above Niedersorpe, with its park and gallery.
