The almost 7-kilometre-long Habichtspur starts at Center Parcs Hochsauerland and first leads through the Naschallee and past the Hansekogge - a nice introduction to the loop before the path gently leads out of the village.
The route is mainly asphalted and then follows wide, open sections of the Medebach Bay landscape, an important European bird sanctuary. Here, fields, meadows and forest edges provide ideal habitats for numerous bird species - including the shy goshawk that gives the tour its name.
The route continues towards the former monastery and monastery estate in Glindfeld, where tranquil views support the steady, well-dosed activation of the cardiovascular system. We reach the Kneipp treading pool, which invites us to take a short refreshment break.
From there, the trail runs in a wide arc back through open valley areas and combines gentle climbs with longer flat sections before we reach the Center Parcs area again and return to the starting point.
The Habichtspur thus offers a low-barrier, varied loop that combines an experience of nature, birdwatching and beneficial exercise in the healthy climate of the climatic health resort of Medebach.
