We hike downhill via the Kreuzberg and the Hesborn trail through an extensive winter forest to Züschen.
From the Stadthalle parking lot, follow the road "Am Rad" uphill. Turn left onto "Hesborn Weg" in the direction of Züschen/Franzosenkreuz. Follow this past the Katerkopf and over the Franzosenkreuz to the "Alter Weg" down to Züschen to the "Dicke Linde" natural monument.
Make sure you wear good footwear. Winter boots with a good profile or with snow claws are particularly suitable. Dress appropriately for the weather. Take a cell phone with you in case of an emergency. Use walking poles to keep your footing on snow and ice. Bear in mind that walking on snow can take longer. There may be icy patches on sunny slopes.
