A hike with a rustic place to stop for refreshments, which can also be easily shortened. The trail starts at the Altenbürener Mühle hiking parking lot above the Glenne, loops around to the outskirts of Rixen, and then returns to the starting point at the Altenbürener Mühle.

The Altenbürener Mühle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Directions

From the Altenbürener Mühle hiking parking lot, follow the AB2 toward Glennefurt. Starting at the “Am Stotenberg” sign, follow the triangle marker. After the trail crosses the Glenne River, turn right and follow the gravel farm road toward Rixen for about 2 km. After passing the wastewater treatment plant, turn right again and follow the diamond symbol for a short distance until you see the Glennefurt and the wooden bridge ahead. Above the bridge, the trail leads onto the A6, which runs along a forest path behind the Altenbürener Mühle for about 1 km to the Sonnenknapp. At the fork, turn right and continue to the paved road, where you’ll meet the X1 trail; follow it to the right back to the Altenbürener Mühle hiking parking lot.
