Directions
Starting from the center of Nordenau, follow the Alte Heeresstraße through the spa park, past the town’s ski lift, to the Land- und Kurhotel Tommes. Above the hotel, turn left onto the A6 and follow it. Keep left and cross the road at the Kuhlmannssiepen hiking parking lot. From here, follow Trail No. 4 to Nesselbach. The trail ends below the Sonnenhof mountain inn.From here, after a short rest (at the Sonnenhof mountain inn in Nesselbach or the Landgasthof Nesselbach), you can return to Nordenau via the same route. Or follow the village road down to Astenstraße (S 40 bus stop), follow it a short distance toward Nordenau, then turn left onto Heilstollenweg and follow it through the spa park back to the tour’s starting point.

Sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
Safety guidelines
Use of the winter hiking trails is at your own risk. Please note that, despite being cleared, the trails may be icy and slippery in places. The winter hiking trails are generally cleared after 10 cm of fresh snow has fallen.
Public transit
Take the S 40 express bus for a convenient ride to the starting point in the center of Nordenau (Kirche stop). The S 40 runs from Schmallenberg through Nordenau and Winterberg to Niedersfeld. The ride is free with the SauerlandCard.
How to get there
Nordenau is located on the K 18 in a low-traffic yet central area. Both Schmallenberg and Winterberg are easily accessible, each about 12 km away.
Parking
Parking is available in Nordenau, for example, in the parking lot at the entrance to the village (coming from the valley) or in the village center near the glass recycling bins (look for the “Parken Burg” signs).
