The tour follows the eastern edge of the Winterberg high plateau. Starting in Hildfeld—which was named “State Gold Village” in 1987 in the “"Let’s Make Our Village More Beautiful," the route crosses the hills that form the watershed between the Rhine and the Weser, passes historic boundary stones marking the state border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Hessen, and winds through the “Neuer Hagen” nature reserve with its beautiful Hochheide.

This hike is especially delightful when the heather is in bloom and the berries are ripe! From Clemensberg, we enjoy a panoramic view of Winterberg to the west, Hildfeld and Grönebach, and to the east, the Langenberg, Westfalen’s highest mountain.
