A beautiful hiking trail to the Strycktal and back.

The health trail passes under Willingen’s landmark, the viaduct, and continues past Lake Stryck to the idyllic Strycktal. Here, cafés and restaurants invite you to linger. The route then follows a beautiful hiking trail along the Itterbach stream and through Stryck Park back to Willingen.
The starting point is the Willingen Town Hall on Waldecker Straße. Follow the street toward Stryck/Usseln for about 100 meters, then turn right onto Stryckweg at the Hotel Waldecker Hof. Pass under the viaduct and continue straight ahead at the next intersection (which is slightly offset). Follow Stryckweg and, about 100 m past the Kurpavillon, turn right onto the street “Am Dicken Stein.” This street climbs steadily until you reach the first houses in Stryck. Continue straight ahead until you reach a cross street, Mühlenkopfstraße. There, turn left down the street and, at the bottom, turn left onto the hiking trail toward Willingen. The trail runs for about 2 km along the Itterbach stream through Stryck Park to the viaduct, then continues on Stryckweg and back to City Hall.
We recommend sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a backpack with snacks, and plenty of fluids (water, tea).
It’s worth taking a short detour to the world’s largest ski jump, the Mühlenkopfschanze, which is just a few minutes’ walk from the K1 health trail.
