You can find places to stop for a bite to eat in Latrop at the Landgasthof/Hotel Hanses Bräutigam, Gasthof Hubertushöhe, and Gasthof zum Grubental, as well as in Schanze at the Landschaftsgasthaus Bräutigam-Hanses and the Schanze Ski Lodge.

Directions
Starting from the center of Latrop, follow the L2 hiking trail through the Grubental valley toward Schanze until you reach the junction with the Rothaarsteig. From there, follow the Rothaarsteig all the way to Schanze.
Equipment
We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and bringing plenty of food and drinks.
Safety guidelines
A system of emergency aid stations has been set up in the Hochsauerland district. You can find these emergency aid stations on information boards at intersections and on hiking trail signs, among other places.

Public transit
Bus line 466 runs through Latrop, as does the Schmallenberg Sauerland Hiking Bus (does not run on Mondays; please check the schedule).

How to get there
From the Olpe exit on the BAB, drive through Lennestadt to Fleckenberg. Turn right here and drive 7 km to Latrop. From the east, drive to Schmallenberg through the tunnel to Fleckenberg.

Parking is available at the hiking parking lot in Latrop.
