After circling the Brilon Bürgerwald, the route leads up to the Brilon Poppenberg, above the ski slope, past the Hiebammen Hütte and back through the Hilbringsetal valley. The Hiebammen Hütte is open at weekends and is highly recommended.

Directions
From the parking lot, go straight on along the road towards Bürgerwald, circle it and continue towards Brilon Poppenberg. From the entrance to the ski hut, the trail runs parallel to the Sonnenloipe until it turns left at the mountain cross towards the Hiebammen Hütte and through the Hilbringsetal valley back to the starting point.
