Safety guidelines
Use of the winter hiking trails is at your own risk. Please note that, despite being cleared, the trails may be slippery in some places. The winter hiking trails are generally cleared after 10 cm of fresh snow has fallen.
A rescue point system is in place in the Hochsauerland district. You can find rescue points on the information boards at trail junctions and on the hiking trail signs, among other places.
