The quality tour "Krenkeltal and Goldener Zapfen" offers diverse insights into the nature and cultural history of this region. For example, at the Rothaarsteig adventure station "Aqueduct" and with the audio story "Dreiherrnstein" from the series "Border Stories Up Close", which tells the eventful story of the dispute over land between the Archbishop of Cologne, the Count of Nassau and the Prince of Wittgenstein.
Sturdy shoes are recommended for the moderately difficult round tour!
From the hikers' parking lot there are further hiking tours: A hike along the Rothaarsteig along the Heinsberg Heid and through the Schwarzbachtal to the Rhein-Weser-Turm (lookout tower, gastronomy) is an option.
The hiking information board gives valuable hints about the various hiking possibilities.
TIP: The town of Heinsberg offers refreshment facilities, hotels/boarding houses/backpackers' hostels/holiday apartments - and connections to the signposted network of hiking trails make it an ideal starting point for hikes along the Rothaarsteig.
