The "Stauweiher Heinsberg" hiking parking lot is the starting point for the "Krenkeltal & Goldener Zapfen quality tour" (approx. 11 km long circular tour) and also offers a relaxing rest stop thanks to its idyllic location. The "Krenkeltal and Goldener Zapfen " quality tour offers a variety of insights into the nature and cultural history of this region. For example, at the Rothaarsteig experience station "Aqueduct" and with the audio story "Dreiherrnstein" from the series "Border Stories Up Close", which tells the eventful story of the dispute over land between the Archbishop of Cologne, the Count of Nassau and the Prince of Wittgenstein.

Sturdy footwear is recommended for the moderately difficult circular tour!

Other hiking tours are available from the hiking parking lot: A hike along the Rothaarsteig access trail along the Heinsberg Heid and through the Schwarzbachtal valley to the Rhein-Weser-Turm (viewing tower, gastronomy) is a good option.

The hiking information board provides valuable information on the many hiking options.

The trail belongs to the Naturpark Sauerland Rothaargebirge e.V. and is maintained and cared for by the park.
