Join us on a journey of discovery through the centuries. Hike along ancient transportation routes and enjoy the magnificent landscape and impressive views.
Discover the hard work of the miners as you explore the mining tracks and immerse yourself in their underground world on a tour of the tunnels.
But also imagine the strenuous journeys through narrow hollow paths from the tunnels to the huts in the valleys, both for humans and animals, and think of the hard and lonely work of the charcoal burners.
The Gewerkenweg becomes complete when the hike is preceded by a visit to the Haus Hövener Museum in Brilon and the conditions of mining from the 18th to the 20th century are impressively demonstrated during the tour of the Philipp Tunnel.
The main trail takes you past 14 stations over a length of around 11 km. The starting or finishing point in Brilon is the Haus Hövener Museum, in Olsberg the Haus Bathen. The "Alte Hütte Loop" also starts at the Haus Hövener Museum, passes 7 further stations and joins the main trail after around 10 km at the Hilbringse customs station.
