The varied landscape makes the approx. 15 km long hike particularly exciting. The sporty tour takes you through deep forests and wide, open landscapes with great views of the beautiful Sauerland. On the Heidekopfturm, a particularly magnificent panoramic view over the Sauerland, Wittgenstein and Hesse regions awaits you. The starting and ending point, Hallenberg's city center, is also worth a closer look.
Starting point for this approx. 15 km long circular trail is the information center "Kump" right next to the church St. Heribert in Hallenberg. From there we walk across the market square to the hiking portal. We continue along Kirchstraße until we reach the B236, then turn left onto the L717 in the direction of Bad Berleburg. After about 300 meters we reach the fire station. Here we keep to the right and follow the course of the H5 and H3 until we reach the SGV-Schützhütte. From the SGV hut, a path leads up to the Heidekopf tower at 703 meters above sea level. On a clear day, our ascent is rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view over the Sauerland, Wittgensteinerland and Hessenland. Now we go back to the SGV hut. There we continue on the H5, which leads along the Hundsrücken in the direction of Gaulskopf without any major inclines. We stay on the hiking trail H5 and walk left past the Radiumquellen area, the Nonnenwinkel to the cross-country skiing area Pastorenwiese. Along the state border, where there are still some historical boundary stones, we hike on the H5 past the vacation village of Bromskirchen (tip: wonderful view of the historic village center of Bromskirchen), back to the town center of Hallenberg. At the main street we meet the Merklinghauser Chapel, a pilgrimage church from the 12th century. Petrusstraße leads us past typical half-timbered houses back up to the market square with the St. Heribert church.
