We hike along the Rothaarsteig to Langewiese and up to Hoher Knochen. After a short descent into the Lenne valley, we follow the course of the Lenne up the valley to Lenneplätze and from there back to the starting point in Neuastenberg
Information
Directions
From the tourist information office, the N2 heads west below the Gerkenstein (790 m) on the old Grenzweg and Rothaarsteig. We turn left towards Langewiese and after about 300 m leave the main path to the right. After 100 m, we walk down a steeper path into the Lenne valley. We cross the still young Lenne on a narrow path. After a steep ascent of 300 m, we reach the pass of the Berghotel Hoher Knochen (642 m) with its mountain hotel. A short rest is recommended. From here, the N2 leads us through a beautiful Buchenwald on the sunny side of the Hoher Knochen to the hunting lodges. After a short descent into the Lenne valley, we follow the course of the Lenne up the valley past the fish ponds to Lenneplätze, the highest point of our hike at 760 m above sea level. From here, we reach our starting point in Neuastenberg after a few meters.
