The photo route has a total length of 11.4 km. It is divided into two loops: the south loop around the Giersberg with 6.7 km and the north loop around the Hirschberg with 4.7 km. Both loops start at this point and can also be explored separately. The route is chosen in such a way that you will pass by the most beautiful motifs on the theme of village and village in the landscape.
Along the way you will find a total of 18 stelae with a QR code. Behind them are links with motif tips, photographic tips or short explanatory videos. In addition, a photographic task for the further photo route. In the course of the hike, with the help of these tips and tasks, your eye will become more and more sharpened for the variety of motifs and photographic design possibilities around you. It doesn't matter what device you use to take your photos. Almost all tips can be implemented with a cell phone or compact camera just as well as with extensive photo equipment. But beware: the route offers plenty of exciting motifs in any weather - much more so than our examples show. So keep your eyes open! You'll see 12 of Schmallenberg's more than 80 districts - sometimes closer, sometimes from further away. On the horizon you can even see parts of our neighboring communities.
