The hiking tour leads across a high plateau to the ruins of Peperburg Castle. In the nature reserve, it then continues through a Buchenwald to a limestone quarry overgrown with ivy and grasses.
Depending on the season, you will discover rare orchids, lily of the valley or wild garlic, among other things.
From the start/finish point "Burgweg parking lot", you will first head uphill towards the Peperburg castle ruins.Once at the top, enjoy the views and the tranquility amidst the old castle ruins. After a short stop inside and catching your breath, continue towards the place of the soul, the quarry at the Peperburg. Keep to the right as seen from the Peperburg and follow the trail markings A, L, R and A19. Let your gaze wander to the left and right...because trees that have grown like tuning forks accompany your footpath in the direction of the quarry, which you will reach after only a few hundred meters. But do not miss the entrance to the quarry! Turn left from the path and after a few steps you are already in the middle of the quarry. Take your time and let all the impressions in the middle of the quarry take effect on you. Imposing stone walls, hung with numerous ivy vines form a dreamlike picture. After the stop in the quarry, turn left again onto the hiking trail and follow the trail marking A19 through the beautiful city forest to the next fork in the trail. There you keep left and continue to follow the A19 until the next fork. At this point you leave the A19 and follow the A18 in the direction of Peperburg.Arrived at the Peperburg you go down again to the start/finish point "parking lot Burgweg".
